SEBA Schools Challenge ('we', 'our', 'us') is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the SEBA Snap! card game, how we use it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

1. Who we are

SEBA Schools Challenge is an educational programme operated by SEBA Education Ltd. For data protection enquiries please contact us at [email protected].

2. Data we collect

We collect only the data you voluntarily provide: player name, school name, and year group entered on the game screen. We do not collect email addresses, passwords, or any sensitive personal data through the game interface. If you register via the registration forms (/registre, /registre-val, /registre-bal) we collect the information submitted in those forms solely to manage competition entries.

3. How we use your data

Player names and school names are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) to display on the leaderboard and game-over screen. They are never transmitted to our servers unless you submit a registration form. Registration data is used only to administer the SEBA Schools Challenge competition and is not sold or shared with third parties.

4. Cookies

We use two categories of cookies. Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the game to function (storing game state, language preference, and consent record). Analytics cookies (optional) help us understand how the game is used so we can improve it. You can withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site.

5. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights please contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) at www.aepd.es.

6. Data retention

Game scores stored in localStorage remain on your device until you clear your browser data. Registration data submitted via the competition forms is retained for the duration of the academic year in which it was submitted and then securely deleted. Anonymous game analytics (no personal data) are automatically purged after 90 days. Classroom session data (student display names, scores, and device tokens) is automatically purged 30 days after the session ends. You may request immediate erasure of your classroom data at any time by choosing "Essential Only" in the cookie banner or by contacting [email protected].

7. International transfers

This application is currently hosted on the Manus Platform (Butterfly Effect Pte. Ltd.), which uses Amazon Web Services infrastructure located in the United States. Your personal data may therefore be transferred to and processed in the United States. This transfer is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under European Commission Decision 2021/914. We are committed to migrating to an EEA-region provider (the Catalan Public Cloud, CSUC) by Q4 2026. For a copy of the applicable transfer safeguards, contact us at [email protected]. 8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the game after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
